Summer Music Festival -- 2005 Silver Anniversary Season is shown below

A three week series of light classical music, the series will celebrate its Silver Anniversary Season in 2005. Since it's beginning in 1980, the Festival has filled a need and provided performance opportunities for local and regional musicians. It has also provided a quality, music program accessible to the greater Dearborn/Dearborn Heights community, especially those on limited or fixed incomes, young families and students.

The goals of the Summer Music Festival Program are:

  • to provide a performance venue for talented amateur and semi-professional musicians and performers

  • to provide a casual, low cost, quality regional music experience

  • to enhance the musical experience of audience and performers

  • to assist in building audiences for the future; to educate the listener

  • to provide pure enjoyment. Professional soloists are usually involved resulting in support for artists/performers.

The Summer Music Festival is a partnership program between the DCAC and the Cultural Arts Division of the Dearborn Recreation.

The 2005 Festival will take place at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. with the exception of the August 5, 2005 concert which takes place at Ford Field with the Prelude to Homecoming Concert..

The DCAC provides funding for the series; technical assistance is provided by the Recreation Department. Summer Music Festival is a well attended (approx. 600 per concert), much anticipated summer program and draws performers and audience from a wide geographic area in southeastern Michigan.
